We have been sold a lie.  Pick up a weekly gossip magazine and it is filled from cover to cover with all these pictures of “beautiful” women- tall, skinny, flawless complexion, beautiful nails, hair sitting perfectly…. The list goes on.  Yet what the magazines don’t tell us is the amount of hours these girls have spent in a room somewhere on set whilst a team of people work on them to make them look a particular way.

God is very clear in the bible that He cares about what is on the inside, not on the out.  When we truly put our identity in Him we will not care about what others think.  There was a song released a few years ago called “Sunscreen” and there was a line in it which said “Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.”  I remember thinking how true!! But what brings freedom to us as daughters of the King of Kings is that He delights in us the way He made us,  He wouldn’t change us for the world and He wants us to be happy with the way we look.  Only when we believe this will we find true peace and contentment….
