Random acts of kindness…

I love the quote by St Francis of Assisi when he says “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words”.  I love the idea of how our simple actions can show God’s love in such a powerful way.

Last week our Youth Fellowship in church decided they would bless another group within the church.  So we bought some crepe paper, card and Quality Streets.  Each one then made a little package with sweets in it along with writting a Christmas message on the card.  It was decided that these would be distributed to the Fellowship Circle in church.  Apparently yesterday morning when the gifts were given out the members were so touched and blessed by the thoughtfulness of the young people’s actions.  The Youth Fellowship even got a round of applause.  Just think how great it is when you get an unexpected gift,  I know this always blesses the socks off me!

One of the great things about random acts of kindness is trying to think of creative and fun ways of blessing people.  My friend showed me this great website last week called “We are what we do”.  Go check it out, the link is below.  There are two books that you can buy called “Change the world for a fiver” and “Change the world 9-5 “.  Or you can go to the ”Do something” section and read some of the actions you can do.  They give you ideas of how to make someone’s day as well as how to help look after our world.  Some of them are really easy and not expensive at all to do.

I told another good friend about it and she has already bought some of the books to use within the Service section for her Brigaders.

Let me know of any random acts of kindness you or you Company have done.
