Tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Sarah, I am 24 and I live in a little place called Dundrod (some may say is the middle of nowhere, but we say is the middle of everywhere!)  I have worked in the GB office for nearly two and a half years part-time while I was studying for a Masters in Theology which I just finished on Monday, and I have just started to work here full-time.  It is maybe dangerous to say that growing up I was a Brownie, and I am now an Anchor Boy leader, but I am learning more about GB everyday.

If you could have had the starring role in one film already made, which movie would you pick?

I know it is a cartoon, but I always wanted to be the Little Mermaid.  I love the idea of being about to swim under the ocean and see all the weird and wonderful creatures that live there, plus even under water her hair always looked perfect!

What will be your role in GB headquarters?

Over the next few months, I will keep on my admin duties as before, but I will also be helping Lesley with some programme work.  So I will be involved in GEMS and organising a Brigader Praise Event (more details to follow shortly).  I will also be working on the Explorer Programme file and the ‘Resources 4 u’  booklets that your Captain receives with each mailing. Oh and better not forget to say that I will be doing some work on this blog, so really a bit of everything, which is what I like about working in GB because I get to do something different nearly everyday.

What is your favourite bible verse?

This is tricky but I think my overall favourite verse is from Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the LORD, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  All through school and university, moving house, my parent’s divorce, troubles with friends and boys, and different projects I have been involved with in church, I have found great comfort in this verse, because even when we don’t know what is going on, God does!

And lastly if you were a flavour of ice-cream, what would you be?

My answer would have to be ‘Phish Food,’ but that is mostly because it is my favourite flavour :-) The best bits are the wee chocolate fishes that are mixed throughout.   I also think that it is a good illustration for the way your Christian faith should be, mixed througout all aspects of your life, as the fish is a symbol of Christianity.
