A World of Giving
Lesley and some of the GEMS girls that have got to know me over the last wee while, might actually be surprised that it has taken me this long to sneak in a blog all about Farmville.
For those who don’t know, Farmville is a game that you play through Facebook where you run a farm, and I just love it!! (Some may say I am addicted but I wouldn’t go that far
In this game you build up a farm by growing crops and harvesting them. With the money from the crops you can buy all sorts of buildings and decorations. However, the reason this game is so engaging is because any of your friends on Facebook, who also have a farm, become your neighbours.
You can then help out on your neighbours farms, fertilise their crops, but most importantly you can send them one free gift a day. Infact, the game only gets good when you get gifts from your neighbours. (This is especially good at the moment as you can give presents for your friends to put under the Christmas Tree on their farm, which you can then open on Christmas Day…. There was great excitment in my corner of the office the day I discovered that lol)
Getting gifts from friends and family is brilliant (and I think anyone who says otherwise is lying if they are totally honest!) but giving is what Christmas is all about. We give gifts at this time of year to remind ourselves of the gift that God sent us in His Son… but let’s face it, when you rip off the paper from those ghd straightners I don’t think many people think of God’s sacrifice!
To go back to the Farmville link… aren’t you excited when you see this message below…
…but I want to leave you with this challenge…how much more excited should we be at the thought of God’s gift to us? This gift is celebrated at Christmas, but it lasts for eternity!
