This is proably a good representation of what my face looked like last night. What you may ask was the problem? It was tragic… my phone battery had died!!!
I was waiting in the car for my friend to come out of the petrol station, and I felt so stranded! I couldn’t text, I couldn’t express my frustration on facebook, I had no music to listen to, I had no pictures to look through, I had no wee silly games to amuse myself, I couldn’t even phone anyone for help!!
Ok, I was perhaps being a little dramatic and I was only waiting in the car for maybe 4 minutes at the most, but it was the principle of the thing: I felt completly cut off from the rest of the world!
Once I got over the trauma of the ordeal (ok maybe still being a little over dramatic about the whole situation!) it made me think about 2 things:
1. How cool is it that our connection to God never gets cut off. Forget trying to get signal, have battery power, be near wi-fi… God is always available, it is just us that don’t give Him the time of day.
2. It also reminded me of a video I once saw. I searched YouTube for it and came up with these two different links with the same message: What if we treated our Bible like our mobile phone?Â
So really the next time you perhaps find yourself in such an upsetting situation, you can think of these two points too

So…….when I watched this the first thing i thought of was how accurate it is in describing our behaviour with our phone. I… Read More’m sure many of us can relate to turning around and having to go back for their phone (i walked home from school one morning as i forgot mine!!!) and also checking their phone several times a day most of us is guilty of it…i know i am!
I watched another version of this after and it asked the question ‘Where is your Bible?’ This got me thinking , if you asked someone where their phone is they could tell you almost without thinking but if asked where their Bible is this takes a little more thinking. I think this is a great wee video as it makes you think about the time you do spend reading your Bible. After the video i was tinking WOW imagine that we did carry our Bible in our pockets everywhere. We constantly check our phones for the latest gossip and messages what would it be like if we just as regularly checked our Bible for messages????
P.S i hope this makes sense i am not good at explaining myself well!!!
I agree completely Jolene! This is so true. Not having my phone is like having a limb missing.
Just for anyone who is interested there is a service you can use to get a bible verse texted to you once a week (Monday morning about 9am). If you text ‘T4W’ to 07797803718 you can join. And apart for the cost to text them once its free.

Today’s text was – “But let all that put their trust in you rejoice… because you protect them.” Psalm 5v11.

A very thought provoking video. Lately, in Senior and Brigader Scripture time each week it’s been crazy trying to get my girls to stop texting or fiddling with their phones for long enough to listen and complete their journals. I plan to show them this video, it’s very good! Thank you!
