Have you ever thought about how much work your leaders put into your GB Company? I am sure that even if you think you know, that there is a whole lot of other things that they do, which you know nothing about. In each individual company, at a District and National level, and even Internationally, all our GBNI Officers, Captains, Helpers and Chaplains do so much work, and all on a volunteer basis!
This week we want you to take some time to appreciate your leaders, and to pray for them. Maybe you could send them a wee note or email just to let them know that they did a great job. Maybe at the end of your display you could stay for an extra 5 minutes to help them out in the tidy up. Maybe a group of you could take your leaders out for a nice coffee or milkshake. Maybe you could just spend some time praying to God about them.
When we refer to a video on YouTube we usually explain what happens in that video in case some of you can’t access YouTube. But you really have to see this one with you own eyes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w&feature=channel
I read about the video above in YouthWork magazine. It is a music video for a band called OK Go and it took 55 people a month and a half to make. Every time something went wrong it took an hour to reset the ‘machine.’ However, if you watch closely you will see that every single, random (some very random) piece of machinery (AKA junk) is vital to making the whole machine work! Everytime that one little marble got stuck somewhere the whole think fell apart.
In the same way, every single member of GBNI is vital. Without girls there would be no GB! without leaders there would be no GB! So take some time this week and thank God for the way everything works together in GB.
From Sunday 13th June to Saturday 18th June this year, GBNI is running a Week of Prayer. More details will follow, but if you are on facebook, go to http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Antrim/Official-GBNI-Focus-on-Prayer/366982847068 and ‘Become a Fan.’ Then suggest this page to all your friends, whether they are in GB or not. We want a really big push to get as many people as possible praying for GB! It is a very exciting time!!
