Do you remember all those blogs last year advertising the Fizz Teams to you? Lauren Mulholland from St Paul’s GB in Lisburn is in Kosova at the moment. Please take a moment and read her email below, as well as the prayer requests she has included towards the end. Isn’t it great that we can support these girls in prayer while they are serving around the world?
“Hi all… just a brief e-mail as my internet time is limited!
I have just completed my first week of mission in Gjakove! During the week past, myself and the team mainly worked with the 1st Gjakove G.B company, running a bible club. This proved to be very worthwhile and it was great to see that some of the girls I met last year, have continued to attend Girls’ Brigade during the year, and were keen to come to the Bible Club also.
I also had the chance to visit the Gjakove Music School. This new building was completed and opened only this year, and it’s very exciting to think what these facilities may add/bring to the city here!
During the incoming week, I will be on the visiting team, which will involve distributing aid and spending time with some of the families which are now widowed/fatherless as a result of the 1999 war. I will hopefully have time to make another visit to the music school, and get involved with some of their summer programmes.
As I enter my 2nd and final week working with Smile International, I would really appreciate it if you could remember the following in your prayers
:
- As two new youth group teams arrive this evening to join the Girls’ Brigade team, we would give them a warm welcome, and that the 3 teams would bond together as one.
- The young girls’ that attended the bible club would have some understanding of the messages we shared with them this week, and that this would enhance the work and establishment of Girls’ Brigade in this country further.
- That the potential of establishing more Girls’ Brigade companies,, would be provided with the appropriate facilities and financial support.
- The work of Eternity church, and smile international would grow further, touching lives across the city.
- The widowed and fatherless families of this country may find closure and comfort within their circumstances.
Many Thanks for all your support.
Much Love,
Lauren xo”
